Trust: Galvanizing Ourselves, Self-Leadership and Leadership of Others
“We need people in our lives with whom we can be as open as possible. To have real conversations with people may seem like such a simple, obvious suggestion, but it involves courage and risk.” – Thomas Moore
“Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
What is your relationship to Trust and do you know how it affects your day-to-day life, your fulfillment in life and your ability to manifest your own potential as an individual and as a leader?
Do you trust yourself?
How often to you hesitate to pursue something that you have dreamt about and then backed down? How frequently do you feel a natural exhilaration of having trusted yourself and felt in total alignment with your own being?
Trusting Yourself
You need to know yourself to trust yourself. Trusting yourself is being true to you; trusting your inner voice, your spirit. It necessitates developing an awareness of your strengths, your potential, your capabilities, your inner gifts and talents and an inner knowing to desire allowing yourself to live as all that you are, your own unique blueprint. It is not arrogance but rather a thirst to unquestionably live your life as you.
Trusting yourself doesn’t depend on outside approval. It can fuel your development as well as help you gain more confidence to tap into your own potential, thus trusting yourself.
If you trust yourself, under which circumstances do you? In which roles, which activities and which relationships?
If not, why not?
How does your ability to trust yourself affect positively or negatively how you show up in certain roles, certain activities and certain relationships?
How might you be projecting onto others as a result of trusting yourself or not?
Are you aware of how trust in yourself or lack of it might bring out the best of yourself or not your best self?
Does trusting yourself make you a person who can be trusted, fulfilled, compassionate and grateful? Or an individual who is arrogant, unable to appreciate how challenging it might be for others to trust themselves and are you as a result difficult to connect with?
