BonneFire Intimate Chat with Skier Scot Schmidt Excerpt
As a surprise to the BonneFire Community, I express my gratitude to Scot Schmidt, the original free skier, whose influence on modern free skiing knows no parallel, for joining me for an intimate chat about his life journey with Warren Miller. Scot was featured in many Warren Miller films, including his first appearance in “Ski Time,” wherein he was featured in the opening, peering over a rock cliff at Squaw Valley, California. Scot met Warren in 1983, and the two became friends. Today, Scot lives at the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana, as its ski ambassador.
BonneFire is in support of being true to ourselves, to show up authentically in roles that we commit to and to invite individuals to be introspective and care to be self-aware, mindful, intentional and purposeful. BonneFire is about living our lives loving what we do, being authentic to who we are, to our own unique blueprint. It is about being in harmony with ourselves and caring to be in harmony with others in all sectors of our lives.
In support of BonneFire, and as a friend, Scot shares the importance of loving what you do and following your heart. Warren Miller went to the edge to follow his heart and did what he loved. He said: “I have no money, no resources, no hopes. I am the happiest man alive.” We honor him in our intimate chat.
